Katie is a senior in the New Media Design and Imagining Program in the School of Design at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). In high school she thought she would be a computer scientist, but discovered she cared more about how it looked than if the program worked. Coming from both backgrounds of study, Katie naturally loves working on collaborative projects. Her first collaborative project was in Susan Lakin and Joe Geigel’s interactive music video class, where she was paired with visual media students and programmers to create a video for the local Rochester band Joywave. Later, Katie had the opportunity to present the music video at SIGGRAPH 2013 alongside Susan and Joe. Katie has been published in Save the Redwoods League’s e-newsletter for the motion graphic PSA she created with two other classmates. Other accomplishments include winning 3rd place in the 2013 Imagine RIT poster contest, having a winning website design for the Greatest Hotels Group relaunch campaign and having her Great Gatsby title sequence play in MOTFY a German type conference in Germany.

Katie began working with the non-profit organization, WALL\THERAPY (a project of The Synthesis Collaborative) as lead designer for their 2013 event catalog. She has continued her work with the project to further enhance their online and interactive presence as well as start their 2014 event catalog. In the start of 2015 Katie decided to become a freelance designer for local businesses needing updated websites and marketing material.
